Venus….

A rocky planet surrounded by intense and bad gases, and radiation. It is the second planet from the Sun. It has a very hot surface because of the green house effect, kind of like global warming on Earth, only it doesn’t affect the enviroment there because there is no known life there.

Mercury….

The nearest planet to the Sun & the smallest of the main planets. It is a terrestrial or a rocky planet (more commonly used). It is so HoT, It could melt in a tin pan! Mercury can whiz around the Sun faster than any of the planets, and that’s how it got its name, after the quick messenger god in Greek Mythology (although it has the Roman name). It can be seen from Earth before sunrise & sunset. It usually appears near the Sun. The atmosphere is very thin & we could not live there. Mercury also has a lot of craters from all the astroids and meteors that have hit the planet.

There are lots of planets in our Solar System. They all orbit around our Sun. The main planets (8) all orbit almost evenly. The dwarf planets have strange orbits and not all have been discovered. The (dwarf) planet, Pluto, used to be a main planet, but was decided a dwarf a few years ago.

Our Solar System is a bunch of objects orbiting around our Sun.

There are 8 main planets, and about 15 dwarf planets.

There are millions of comets, asteroids and meteors.
